The Candy Ribbon Rose is a secret icon of Santas everywhere. The story goes that Santa Stephen Claus proposed to his wife Sophie with a rose tied to her favourite treat (most historians believe it was a candied cinnamon stick, but traditionally it’s depicted as a candy cane). Since Sophie would go on to take Stephen’s place as the next Santa, a tradition was eventually formed where Santas give their chosen successors a Candy Ribbon Rose.
Some Santas believe that the CRR should be given at the last second, keeping their successor a surprise until the end. Others, like Silas, give it to their chosen successor as soon as they have made their decision on who should take their place once they’re done being Santa. Either way, receiving a rose tied to a candy cane from Santa is a great honour that everyone in the Santa and Elf community knows about.
best be trollin’ silas!
Only you could make a large, complicated mythology about the succession of Santas… AND make it interesting! Bravo, bushlady. Bravo.
