Simone tried her best to be a good Santa and a good single mother, and she had the support of many friends and family around her. She got by for the most part, but would still suffer from a few panic attacks or mental breakdowns during crucial Christmas times, leaving many to doubt her abilities as Santa. Eventually, the Elf Council voted on her forced resignation, and she was later self admitted into a mental institution to get some professional help after she didn’t handle the news all too well.
There, Simone continued to get lots of love and support from those around her, and everyone was happy she was finally getting the help she needed without the pressure of her job getting to her. She was doing much better and recovering just fine. Until she died of a stroke before getting to leave the hospital. Kind of tragic. Bummed out a lot of people. Put a bit of a damper on the end of her run as Santa.
Tune in next week for some more happy Christmas stories, and have a happy new year!
And they all lived happily ever after except none of them were happy and some of them didn’t live.
That’s a fact of life that a lot of writers tend to forget: not everybody gets a happy ending.
