I like three panel comics, or to be more specific, comics with three columns of panels. Having less than three rows helps too, but I like it when I have more than two columns. See, if I use only two columns, I eventually have to zoom in more and my sketchy lines are much more noticeable. With nice panels like this though, I get a nice screen that’s just the right amount of zoom and sketchiness to it. Makes the joke nice and simple and fun to watch. As an added bonus, the reader is less likely to accidentally take a peek at the last panel and spoil the punchline with their peripheral vision.

If all problems were solved by a game of chess, there’s be no wars, our children would grow up more intelligent, and people sould be much less confrontational. If we could zazz up the game of chess (makes the pieces explode or make sounds when taken), I could totally see this happening.
