The king of Custard is a noodle slug. They’re not very mobile, and he’s getting kind of old, and he also likes wearing his dumb hat so he can pretend to have hair. Thankfully I’m pretty sure Hazel Koala doesn’t have to deal with royalty all that much in her future. She’ll have a better job someday where people can respect her.

King Noodles here kind of reminds me a little bit of the original fairy tale of “The Beauty and the Beast”, in which the Beast asks Belle to marry him every night and she refuses every time, and the castles curse is broken when she finally accepts.
