The original idea for this last arc was meant to be about both Shady and Keith’s past, but I quickly realised Shady’s past is both way more straightforward and also just plain sad. She lived a relatively simple life by comparison, but she always manages to look on the bright side. When she mugs someone, she doesn’t kick herself or wonder how she got here. She just keeps moving forward and spends the money in that purse on a breakfast burrito at the one Leo’s Tacos that hasn’t banned her yet.
