This sounds like it’s a big deal, but where could it have come from? You’d think that following a couple dozen people in one town would give us all the information we need about the world around them, but now there’s some kind of massive rise in deaths. I am totally caught off guard by this news.

well it’s not like thorlog ever killed anyone, and i’m gonna guess little miss tomato’s deaths don’t count. also while i’m sure there’s at least 6 more vaguely sinister characters in FI i can’t seem to think of any at the moment.
People with DIES are actually very convenient for reapers since they can’t actually die permanently until their life force runs out, so they’re always ripe for harvesting once their time comes.
