Hello all. It’s been a while since I made a blog post like this, and it’s not hard to see why. Aside from Christmas breaks I have very little need for any announcements to put on here. So I suppose I could just give a half-year review of what’s happened so far.
As is usual for me, there’s not much new things to report. The only new thing I’ve tried outside of making comics was pay for some ad space on other sites for a month, which didn’t boost any real numbers in terms of viewers in the long run, and also proved to be much too expensive to continue past the one-month trial run I did just to experiment, so unfortunately y’all wont see any cute Fruit Incest ads on other webcomics any time soon. Still, welcome to anyone if they stuck around this long afterwards. I’ve seen a couple of new names in the comments lately too, so everyone new around here, I appreciate the views and having your readership. It’s a big honour having people read my stuff and come back for more, so thank you all very much.
As for the comic itself, I haven’t done any major story arcs this year so far, but I’ve done some nice stories that have been in the backburner for a while and have plans for many more in the future. There probably wont be any real news for a while again, but I’m still working to give you comics every week and appreciating any feedback I can get. All you nice folks who stick around really help keep me motivated as much as I can, so I’ll be sure to keep it up and hope I can spread things out to even more people sooner rather than later. Thanks to everyone here, and as always, remember to love your lolis.
As someone who came in through the ad campaign, I’m sorry it wasn’t successful, but I’m glad the experiment gave me the chance to find your work.
Personally, the main ways I pick up new webcomics are ads, checking out the creators of guest comics, and recommendations from the authors I read. I see you’ve been doing some fanart lately as well, which will hopefully get your name in front of some new audiences.
Speaking of getting your name out there, why “MissH” at Candybooru, instead of “Miss_Hedgey”? When flower mage fans Google the name, nothing fruity or fridgelandic comes up, and potential new readers won’t find any lolis to love. Please, for their sake, think of the branding!
Well thank you for reading, and for the advice. I never expected anyone to be interested in me from the Candybooru since I had no plans to do anything aside from the one fanart I did, but I guess in retrospect that may have been something I should’ve thought ahead on. For now though there’s not much else I can do so I’ll have to think ahead when the chance comes up again.
That’s the only reason I brought it up — honest, I’m not trying to make you feel bad, I just couldn’t bear to think of you overlooking a similar opportunity next time. You never know what might bring in the next faithful reader, so just keep doing what you love, and do what you can to let fans of one piece find and enjoy the rest.
I know us current Hedgey fans wish you all the best in your quest for robot armies–er, additional readers. Eh, whichever one makes you happier.
